Where do you get good wine in Kenya? A few weeks ago, a friend and I were in Nairobi CBD looking for a last minute wine gift. Huge mistake! You can imagine after hitting up different supermarkets and wine shops, we were so disappointed. How comes you cannot get good wine in Nairobi CBD? Someone should come up with a wine store in town and make a killing. We did find a few outlets with the normal, run-of-the mill wines.

And is boxed wine even a thing? #Cardboardeaux 😀

Moving on swiftly. We should have known better. So to save you the agony of  shopping through wine that does not impress, here are some places in Nairobi that you can get decent wine. This list will exclude restaurants because I will be compiling a guide of restaurants with impeccable wine lists. This list will include my personal opinion on how I have interacted with the brands.

I will also be updating the list so feel free to feature your establishment by contacting me at info@thewineandfoodreview.com

CHANDARANA FOODPLUS

If you are looking for great wine in Kenya, Chandarana Supermarket is a great place to start. Another thing I like about Chandarana is that they are well stocked and you get a wide array of wines. In fact, they have some great roses and sparkling wines. You can also shop online through their website depending on your preference and price range.

Wines to try: Franshoek Club Rose and Tattinger Brut Reserve.

Service: You can ask them about the wine from their social media/ online channels but it is advisable to have an idea what you want before hand.
