Happy New Month.

I was going through my photography folder and I came across a folder with these great photos of Boshendal. I decided to make a photo diary. Should you want to know more about what I thought of the tour, wine notes and more, I have a Youtube Video where I talked about all that.

This is a land of great beauty, crisp air, wildflowers and rolling hills. Boschendal Wine Estate is located in the Franschhoek wine valley in the Western Cape. I know I always talk about wine estates with so much enthusiasm but this one caught my eye. It was beautiful.

We first had a proper food and sparkling wine (MCC/ Method Cap Classique) pairing. I am used to the red and white wine pairings but rarely do I get the chance to try food with Sparkling wine. Most people think that sparkling wine should only be for celebratory occasions but we learned otherwise at Boschendal. A great sparkling wine can be good to pair food with.

What I loved about this pairing is that every wine was unique and we had the winemaker give us extensive information about every wine before we tasted.

Here are the wines we tasted from their Cap Classique Range.

Boschendal Grand Cuvee Brut (Chardonnay & Pinot Noir) 2013

Boschendal Prestige Cuvee 2007

Boschendal Brut

Boschendal Brut Rose MCC

Should you be interested in the wines, you can learn more here.

We then went to their organic farm where they grow their produce to use in the restaurant. They use a lot of compost and manure from animals on the farm. The biodynamic farm was so beautiful. See pictures below.
