Sunday Brunch is the highlight of my week. I don’t get to go for Sunday Brunch every week but even if I am at home, I like making myself a mimosa, fresh juice, having a fruit bowl and some good food. That’s my version of Sunday brunch for one because let’s be honest, making a Bloody Mary at home is chaotic. I have tried and let’s just say it tasted horrible. I could taste the Heinz and I did not get the celery garnish so I put a carrot stick and basil. But I am not the first one to go nuts on the garnish. People have even put very outlandish garnish like a whole chicken on a Bloody Mary. Don’t believe me?

So I recently did a tweet asking people where to do Sunday Brunch in Nairobi and someone suggested that Park Inn would be launching theirs. They stated that theirs is a “colourful and laidback Sunday Brunch at the modern and contemporary Park Inn by Radisson, Nairobi Westlands.”
FOOD & DRINK
When it came to the food, they sourced fresh, seasonal ingredients from local sustainable farmers. They had a live pasta cooking station and waffle station so that one could watch as the food was being prepared. There was wine, bubbly, cold salads, muffins, croissants, breakfast bread, butter, jam and preserves, cheese platter with wafer biscuits, beetroot salad, bean salad, Russian egg salad, asparagus salad, pasta salad, terrine of the day and much more. The hot dishes options include roast joint of beef, pork or lamb, seasonal fish the day for the fish lovers, roast chicken with peppers, pasta station done live, seasonal vegetables for the healthy options, roast potatoes, vegetarian curry and a “create your own omelette” option with a choice of ingredients fresh from the kitchen. They had freshly prepared waffles with various toppings and sauces and live cooking, freshly prepared crepes with toppings and sauces, fresh fruit salad, chocolate mousse, pineapple upside down cake, Crème Brulee, cheese platter with wafer biscuits and the highlight, an ice-cream live station. There were great options for kids. The bloody mary was weirdly delicious. I also loved the cold juices and the fish and fresh vegetables.
SERVICE
The service was great. It was self-service for the food but the staff was always there to help. Alfred served us and he was so welcoming and friendly. He brought our drinks on time and made sure that our glasses always had wine.
AMBIENCE
The restaurant is very beautiful and spacious. It has high ceilings, an open plan setting, colourful tables and one can choose to sit inside or outside. We sat at the live-inn restaurant. They had an in-house band that was a bit loud but everything else was spot on. For Sunday brunch, I would prefer mellow jams but that’s just me. Families and kids seemed to enjoy it and there was even a couple dancing to celebrate one of their birthdays.
PRICES
Adults pay Ksh 3000 and this includes bottomless bubbly/house wine while the kid’s buffet is Ksh 1650.
I did a cool video about it on my Youtube Channel.
