Did you know that there is an organization that uses proceeds from Wine events to provide water to people in need? Now you do… Think of it as drinking Wine for a good cause.
Wine To Water™ is a non-profit aid organization focused on providing clean water to people in need around the world. Statistics show that over 800 million people lack access to clean water and Wine to Water is determined to change that. This organization began in February 2004 in Raleigh, North Carolina. After the first fundraiser, the event grew and spread all over the world. The Team has been successful in carrying out different projects around the globe. They have helped to provide water to over 250,000 people in 17 countries to date (Including E.African countries like Kenya).
The Team
The team has 5 full-time and 5 part-time members who come together with one goal, ‘to provide clean water to those in need’.
The Wines
Their wines include C. Sauvignon,S. Blanc, Pinot Noir, Vintage Merlot , Zinfandel and Chardonnay . They even have an online shop where you can buy a bottle and as a result, help the less fortunate.
After speaking to Josh Elliot, he told The Wine and Food Review that;
“When we started in 2004 with just one Wine To Water event, we had no idea how our simple efforts would transform into an international organization. Today, with over 300,000 people reached with clean water, we continue to grow because of the many passionate people and partners that have joined us in the fight for clean water. We are all very ordinary in our own efforts, but together we can have an extraordinary impact on the world”.
