12 Wines of a Kenyan Christmas

The last few weeks I have been looking for the ultimate Christmas wines available in Kenya. This list is based on personal preferences. I haven’t decided where I will be spending my Christmas but wine is part of the equation. I believe that Christmas wines should be celebratory wines. They don’t necessarily have to be bubbly’s or sparklings. Here are my ”12 wines of a Kenyan Christmas 2014”. 1. Fantinel Prosecco.

I had this wine at a dinner in Meditteraneo 9 West last week and I believed that it made the cut. It had beautiful straw color accompanied by a fruity bouquet with hints of golden apples. It filled the mouth with a burst of flavors that are fruity. It is a consistently popular, lively, classic sparkling wine perfect for any festive occasion. get this wine here. 2. Casillero Del Diablo Brut Chardonnay

This is a wine that I discovered 2 months ago and I have already downed 4 bottles. It is that good. Read about this wine here. Available at Viva Global Ltd.

3. Mara Celebration wine

What better way to celebrate than to do it with a wine made for Kenya? Read about why this wine made the cut here. Available at Mia Wines and Spirits International.

4. Frisky Zebras Mystic Merlot

This is a wine I got from the Kenya wine club. However it is only available in stores in January 2015. Available at the Kenya Wine Club.

5. Solms-Astor Cape Jazz Shiraz Sparkling Wine

This is a sparkling wine from South Africa. Available at the Kenya Wine Club. 6. Ferrari Sparkling wines

This is some sparkling wine that I discovered in the Out of Sicily wineshop. I have not bought it yet but I’m planning to do so before Christmas.

7. Marques Casa Concha Chardonnay

I came across this wine during a Chilean wine dinner at Fairmont The Norfolk. I loved the vibrancy that this ripe, delicious wine serves up. It tasted of pear, mineral notes and toasty hazelnut. A must have during Christmas. Available at Viva Global Ltd.

8. French Aix Provence Rose.

This is the best Rose in Kenya. It is An award-winning wine from, Domaine de la Grande Séouve winery. AIX is the the definitive Provence rosé. Available at the Wine Company.

11. Charles de Fère blanc de blanc reserve brut

I had this wine over two years and I have not managed to get it in Kenya. However, if any of you can get your hands on it, it will make as a good wine to have with your dinner on Christmas eve/ Christmas day. The Charles de Fère Brut Premium will also do.

12. Refosco La Roncaia

I tasted this wine at a dinner and it will be stocking soon in Kenya. It is one of the best reds I have tasted. It is deep ruby/ maroon. I did not buy a bottle but I would recommend it to anyone who can get their hands on it.
