Distell Limited, has appointed renowned Kenyan musician Eric Wainaina as the face of its flagship Nederburg brand in Kenya. The ambassadorship will see Eric front a new Nederburg campaign dubbed “Taste Matters”, aimed at informing and educating the brand’s target audience about its multi-tiered range of award-winning wines.
Distell General Manager for North East Africa, Richard Lord, said he was confident that the partnership would enable the brand to reach out more intimately to its target audience, which comprises largely young, upwardly mobile urban men and women with an appreciation of fine wines.
“We’re delighted to partner with an icon of Kenyan music to promote Nederburg, which represents many of the same things that Eric Wainaina stands for, including mastery of craft, distinction, uniqueness and sophistication,” said Richard.
Nederburg is an ultra premium wine brand that has been at the forefront of South African winemaking for generations, and is celebrated globally for its superior quality. With an array of wines ranging from sweet to dry in both red and white varieties, Nederburg appeals to a broad range of wine lovers, from connoisseurs and collectors to those seeking everyday drinking pleasure and newcomers to wine.

As part of the six-month deal Eric will feature in advertisements and make appearances at Nederburg-sponsored events in addition of promoting the brand at his events.
